Independent Green Voice (IGV) was formed in March 2003.

Since then we have stood at Scottish, Council, and British General elections.

At the 7th May 2026 Holyrood election, we are standing candidates

in all 8 Regions of Scotland. That means everyone has a chance to vote for us

on the second peach-coloured ballot paper.

Why is Independent Green Voice (IGV) Standing?

Like any other political party, we aim to get our philosophy and policies heard, understood, accepted and enacted!

Why Vote for Independent Green Voice (IGV)?

A vote for IGV is a vote to lower the cost of rents by building more Social Housing, it's a vote to cut food and energy bills by using Scotland's rich energy resources; and it's a vote to challenge our country's subservience to the Bond Markets to whom we're paying £111 billion pounds this year in interest payments alone! In our manifesto, we cut to the crux of these vital matters.

What is Unique about IGV?

We are dedicated to developing Economic Consciousness among the electorate; and instituting laws which protect the Economic Sovereignty (authority) of the country and the Economic Democracy enjoyed by the people. That is, we aim to help people understand how our money is created, how our economy works, and how wealth is created; how our democracy and economy can potentially be corrupted by malign actors in institutions such as the bond markets; and how to protect and empower people economically in our day-to-day lives.

Reserved versus Devolved Policies

IGV is registered to stand throughout Great Britain. Some of our Policy Proposals can only be enacted at the central British level. These are the policy topics which are "reserved" to Westminster, as opposed to those which are "devolved" within the remit of Holyrood. However, this does not stop any of our elected MSPs from raising such reserved matters in the Scottish Parliament or elsewhere.

Our Wage Pledge

If elected our candidates pledge to live on the average median annual salary for full-time employees in Scotland, which is approximately £39,000 – rather than the £74,507 annual wage of an MSP.

We will receive the full income, as we are required to do, but we will donate the difference as above, after tax, each month, to select charities in our Region. We will publicise our donation each month via our social media account.
